Everyone is invited to join us! Whether you're a seasoned activist or just wanting to get your feet wet, you'll leave armed with the knowledge of how to advocate for yourself and your community members.
Rebecca Winters of Albany
Family Law and Bankruptcy Attorney and Mediator
'Oregon's Homestead Exemption'
Rebecca will share some largely unknown facts about Oregon's Homestead Exemption. An effort has begun to raise the current low amount so that more folks can stay in their homes when financial trouble comes calling. Break-out session allows us time to mingle while we write short messages to our state legislators.
Sandra Bishop
'How a Bill Becomes Law in Oregon'
~Emphasis on Introducing Bills for the 2019 Oregon Legislative Session~
Sandra Bishop is a community activist who has spent her career as a lobbyist working with the Oregon legislature. She empowers public interest groups, businesses and individuals to make their voices heard. She currently works with rural organizers and represents the interests of NAACP Eugene/Springfield branch at the state legislature. It's a Rural Oregon Soup Swap!  (Please RSVP)

·       A Social Night at the Stewart Residence

A Soup Swap is souper fun!

Our Plan: We'll get a group of friends together on a cold winter's evening to sip soup, spill the beans and talk soup-to-nuts. (Like, how are we holding up now that the year from hell is finally behind us??)

1) Prepare your soup at home. A test run is a good idea if you're trying out a new recipe.

2) Bring the batch of soup to share during the swap. Be prepared to talk about your soup and why it is special. What are the flavors? Is it organic? Spicy? Sweet? Has it been handed down by Grandma?

3) Everyone goes home with a different soup that they liked in a cute mason jar! Bread and carb-laden toppings will be provided. Please bring yourfavorite
 drinks.
